Reading: not unusual for me to spend 12+ hours
RPG: longest continuous time was around 18 hours playing Stormbringer

18 hours, that's the top record I've ever heard for a rpg! My own record was 14 consecutive hours.

My first read of 'The Lord of the Rings' as an undergrad went on for about eighteen hours- just went through it at one gulp and forgot what the time was (forgot to eat/attend lectures too :o)
