No, musical taste is not something I'm inclined to judge someone by, as a source of gentky pulling their leg maybe. If someone takes a dislike to me based on my musical taste, quite likely we'd not have gotten on anyway.
In the main, I think that within my circle of friends we manage to deal with each others musical tastes quite well, and avoid playing stuff that someone dislikes when they are present.
Fortunately we all have fairly eclectic tastes and as such there is quite a lot of shared ground.
