The day started with a disagreement with the hotel staff. According to them bare feet aren't allowed in the brasserie for Health an Hygiene reasons. They didn't take it too kindly when it was pointed out that their, not particularly clean looking, street shoes were in fact dirtier , and more of a hygiene problem than freshly washed feet.

"It's the law!"
"No, actually it's not."

I hadn't intended to wander to brekkie barefoot, it just happened as I was nattering to some people at the time and we just drifted that way.

On returning wearing not very much in the way of sandals:
"Thank you. I've been told it's not the law, it's management policy."

Breakfast was still crap. How can a 4* hotel bugger up a fry-up?

The morning was split between Gophering and sessions:
The Omnian Church Sunday Service which included a rather funny sermon by The Cunning Artificer.
Biology of the Discworld given by Jack Cohen
Simon Briggs Interview.

It also included a total underwear failure, which fortuntely did not occure at an inopportune moment.

Lunch which I forgot to eat again - 3 days in a row.

Yet more gophering,
relocating the charity auction *3* times
UU faculty meeting
shopping in Sator Square
and then the thing that has done my back in - moving stage step blocks out of the main hall ready for the Gala Dinner.

Had dinner, and the went to Koom Valley to play games - The Hogfather prototype mainly.

This was followed by a somewhat late running talk on BDSM by 'Affordable' Graham.

IHTS, that this skirt whilst it is nice, is not very comfortable to *sit* in as a result of having heavy lace ribbon hoops on it. One of which is located perfectly to dig in the back of the thighs when sitting. *grump*

IHTS it has been a busy day today.

Finally put some faces to names.

"Terry's Bedtime Stories" overran by about 45 mins, made up predominantly of readings from Wintersmith. But finished off with a couple of excerpts from Making Money.

Also, I find that out in public, I truly am more comfortable being Alice than Alan, so I think it is time to close the door on that part of my life. [livejournal.com profile] lproven did ask the question "Why?", when I bumped into him. The answer was essentially a synopsis of the post way back in May. Fall on my sword or be who I truly am.

Goodnight from Hinckley.
