I do feel a little miffed about the DVLA. I have received the new V5s for the Bandit and the K, I'm quite pleased with their efficiency. However, they list him as the previous owner, and of course they've incremented the previous owner count by 1.

As they were returned solely for a change of name I'd thought (obviously mistakenly) that the previous owner data would have been preserved. Oh well, I don't like it but I'll have to live with it.

I suggest getting hold of them and explaining in words of one syllable that it is a name change *not* an owner change!

Seem like they think it was change of owner. Letters addressed to Alan from DVLA thanking him for notifying them of the transfer of ownership.

Job for Monday...

Sounds a bit odd - maybe worth chasing them up over that given the ownership actually never changed.

I was lucky in that I sold my old car and got a new one as part of the making a clean break thing for transition. Consequently the V5 was being updated anyway due to the new car having just been bought. So I never encountered such problems.

Not really sure how their system could cope otherwise, but ISWYM.

They managed to get it right on all my vechicles (Three bikes and a car) but I put in a covering letter and included a copy of my deed poll, all in the same envelope, just to make extra sure it went through OK.
