I was tiding my bag out and getting rid of the detritus that inevitably builds up, like random tissues and the odd bit of small change.

Even having done that, what you see in the picture is what was in my bag the last time I went out for the day to London. Similar will be in it for the next trip out. This omits the iPod that is usually attached to my waistband or belt.

It's quite scary really, considering that not long ago I'd disappear off for a similar sort of day with keys, money, necessary travel tickets and maybe a pen to do the crossword.

ETA: I've just realised that there are two items missing from this picture, one is the 3G/HSDPA dongle and the other is a pinwheel. No, wrong, actually there's a third item — a spare pair of knickers.
