I just love going to work on a Saturday.

Um, you don't believe me do you?

Thought not.

For various reasons I had to go into work today, so after a quick dash into town, to (amongst other things) ensure that at least I have food in the house for a couple of days, and saying goodbye to Nikki, it was up to the station to get the train. The trip over from Greenbank to Sheffield was not quite as normal, as being a Saturday, my season ticket entitles me to use 1st instead of cattle class.

Got done as much of the needed as I could before heading back. It was only when I got back to Sheffield station that I discovered that there were no evening trains today to Manchester. Instead they were replaced by buses. My favourite... [Not convincing you again am I?] As a general rule I avoid long distance bus travel as I am prone to travel sickness on them, but this was unavoidable.

Going over the top of the Snake Pass the view of the lights of Greater Manchester spread out below was beautiful in its own way. It does however emphasise how built up the area is.

On arriving at Stockport I had to sit around for 45 mins for the train back to Greenbank. Whilst sitting there and reading "Thud"1 I managed to eat too much chocolate (M&S extremely chocolatey mini bites), and I now feel sick. :( Probably didn't help that that was effectively my dinner.

Anyway, I'm back now, utterly knackered. Nikki is apparently safe and sound in Cambs.

I think that I might just sleep through Sunday morning completely.

Alice.
